Schedule Timeline

From initial discussion to the finished product, you can expect your Pearson representative to assist you through the entire process. The entire production process, from the time your materials are turned over to the time you have a completed Custom Speeches site, will take no more than six weeks. Below is a step-by-step outline of the process.

  1. Your Pearson rep will discuss the Custom Speeches program with you.

  2. An Pearson Technology Specialist or Pearson Custom editor will contact you to follow up.

  3. Your Pearson rep and Tech Specialist will prepare a presentation to demo MySpeechLab and the Custom Speeches program and will work with you to determine the types of assets that should be included in your Custom program.

  4. Your Custom Editor will work with you to finalize your wish list and give you price options. From this point in the process forward, your Custom Editor is your main contact.

  5. You and your Custom Editor finalize your content requirements (number of speech clips provided, their total duration and the tape format to be submitted).

  6. You are responsible for having speeches taped, logging contents of submissions and providing all necessary paperwork. A turnover will be considered incomplete and will not be accepted by production unless it includes all of the following:

    • Videotapes in a supported format
    • Video Log Form detailing the contents of submitted tapes
    • A Reproduction Rights Release form for each speaker
    • A menu of how the professor wants clips to appear in the player.

See Submission Guidelines for more information.

  7. Your Custom Producer logs the assets and checks them for completeness.

  8. Your Custom Producer builds your MySpeechLab course or your Custom Site.

  9. Your Custom Producer digitizes your videos and moves them to Pearson's media server.

  10. Your Custom Producer builds your media player and video navigation. (1-week).

  11. Your Custom Producer tests the site.

  12. Your Custom Producer informs you that the site is live and provides you the URL.
