Clearinghouse (ERIC/CASS). The original clearinghouse was established in 1966 by Dr. Garry R. Walz at the University of Michigan and has been in continuous operation since that date. Its scope area includes school counseling, school social work, school psychology, mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling, career counseling, and student development, as well as parent, student, and teacher education in the human resources area. Topics covered by ERIC/CASS include training, supervision, and continuing professional development; human services and mental health professionals; counseling theories, methods, and practices; the roles of counselors, social workers, and psychologists in all the education settings at all levels; career planning and development; self-esteem and self-efficacy; marriage and family counseling; and counseling services to special populations such as substance abusers, pregnant teenagers, students at risk, and public offenders.

BaFa BaFa (racism and culture) is a simulation game that aims to let groups experience racist feelings toward each other, based on two hypothetical "cultures." In debriefing they will realize how racism can be based on misinformation and wrong perceptions, as well as understand how interaction can help overcome racial barriers. This can also be adapted to highlight communication between any two groups, such as parents-teens, different language groups, and different schools.
