Patas Monkeys

Patas monkeys (Erythrocebus patas) are a terrestrial African species that shows dramatic sexual dimorphism in body size. Note how much larger the adult male is than the female. Patas monkeys tend to live in unimale-multifemale social groups, although extra adult males may invade the group during the mating season. Body size dimorphism may be partially due to male-male competition for access to mates.
