About the AuthorsVictoria Mikelonis is a Professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Scientific & Technical Communication at the University of Minnesota. She teaches courses in Grant seeking, International Business Communication, Intercultural Communication, Business Communication, and Model & Metaphor. In addition to her regular campus teaching, Dr. Mikelonis has taught Grant Seeking to academic and professional groups in Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, and the U.S. Dr. Mikelonis holds a Ph.D. in Language and Literature from Indiana University of Pennsylvania . She has been teaching Grant seeking and writing proposals for the past 20 years and helped bring in more than $30 million dollars to the University of Minnesota. Signe T. Betsinger, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, University of Minnesota, was an Assistant Director in the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station where she assisted faculty in the Institute of Agriculture, Forestry, and Home Economics in seeking research funds and served as a research proposal reviewer. For 15 years she has been affiliated with the Rhetoric Department at the University of Minnesota, team-teaching with Victoria Mikelonis, both on campus and in Central and Eastern Europe.
Constance Kampf is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Minnesota. She has been working with Drs. Mikelonis and Betsinger since 2000, co-teaching grant seeking classes. She also has taught Project Management, Public Speaking, and Technical Writing in the Department of Rhetoric, Business writing in the College of Continuing Education, and writing for Civil Engineering students in their Project Management and Capstone classes. She has taught proposal writing workshops in Ukraine with both Drs. Mikelonis and Betsinger. She holds an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Minnesota. Through her proposal writing, she has helped bring $79,000 in funding to the University of Minnesota in the past year.
