ON JANUARY 20, 2009, BARACK OBAMA was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States. He now confronts a host of pressing issues facing our country and world. Here is a chance to tell him what you think!
Do you feel the President is focused on your problems? How do you feel about his recent policies and platforms on major issues?
Create and submit a video letter to President Obama and be entered to win one of five $1,000 scholarships. In your video letter you will make an argument to the President with the goal of convincing him to focus on a specific issue you feel is most important. If the President is already working on the issue, argue why he should change his approach. To do this you will need access to MyPoliSciLab, a state-of-the-art online learning tool for American Government students and instructors that combines content with multimedia activities to make learning more fun and effective.
To register for your version of MyPoliSciLab, and be eligible for the scholarship contest, you will need:
A MyPoliSciLab student access code. This unique code is packaged with your American Government textbook, or available for purchase on this website with a major credit card. (Return to the MyPoliSciLab home page and click Students in the "Register or Buy Access" box.) You can also check with your bookstore to purchase a standalone access card. Your unique code will look something like this:

A valid email account. Tip: use an account you'll keep for the duration of your course.
Author, title, and edition of your textbook. You can generally find this information on the first few pages of your book. Ask your instructor if you are unsure.

Once you have access to MyPoliSciLab, you’re almost ready to go! Simply log in to MyPoliSciLab and locate the "Letter to the President" box, which you will find on the bottom right hand side of the homepage (directly under the Comedy Central clip of the week).
