Student Polling. Updated weekly with timely questions, this new feature allows students to participate in nationwide polls on hot topics. Students are asked to vote on questions such as, “Do the major/national TV news programs (CNN, NBC, CBS, etc.) generate mostly soft news?” Results are immediately displayed.
PoliSci News. PoliSci News contains an online feed from The New York Times that is updated hourly, an exclusive New York Times database that allows students to browse by subject area or search for a specific topic, and PoliSci News Review, a series of articles selected by a political science professor that recap the previous week's most important political events, and are followed by quizzes and critical thinking questions.
Roundtable Discussion Video Clips. Video clips consist of three professors discussing important concepts covered in the text. Key concepts (such as campaign finance reform) and critical questions (such as “Is Federalism Dead?”) are discussed from a wide range of perspectives and viewpoints, providing students with a balanced review of integral course material. Each discussion is accompanied by critical thinking prompts, multiple choice questions, and transcripts (including one in Spanish) for reference.
