To effectively evaluate word processing skills, work needs to be turned in on disk and checked electronically. This requires developing procedures to make evaluation of both electronic and printed copies of work fast and efficient.
- The authors have developed guidelines for turning in work on disk that has been quite effective at keeping both students and graders organized.
- Each of the assignments that students turn in has a "grading sheet" associated with it. These check lists indicate what criteria will be checked. This allows students to be sure they have completed assignments correctly. It also makes it easier for graders and instructors to evaluate work consistently.
- The "Project" assignments include in-class activities in which students provide feedback to each other in small groups. Each students turns in the in-class feedback with their assignment.
